The fish oil-derived Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA are particularly important in the continued support of cardiovascular and mental health, as well as being beneficial to joint mobility. The recommended minimum intake is 450mg EPA / DHA per day, with a scale of increased benefits up to around 2000mg per day.

This product contains concentrated fish oils, with the recommended daily dosage of three capsules per day providing 270mg EPA / DHA. As such, this product is unlikely to deliver the full range of heart health benefits associated with increased intake of Omega-3 without additional supplementation or increased consumption of oily fish. This product also contains most essential vitamins and trace minerals, with Vitamins E, B6, B12 and Folic Acid being well above their respective RDAs.

As the Vitamins above have been associated with additional benefits to heart health (by lowering a risk factor in the blood called Homocysteine), this product may provide heart health benefits from this route.

Three capsules of this product also contain 30mg CoQ10, which has some evidence of effect in aiding heart health if long term supplementation at this level is maintained. However, the level included in this product is equivalent to less than half of one clove of fresh garlic, which may be too little to deliver significant effects.

Nevertheless, the combination of nutrients in this product makes it reasonably appropriate for the individual who wishes to improve the overall health of his / her heart.
