This product is classified as a traditional herbal remedy, which means that it has been allowed to make claims for effects which have been based on traditional usage. However in the case of this preparation containing the herb Fucus (seaweed), there appears to be little or no supporting scientific evidence of any effect in weight reduction. Indeed, one known effect of this herb, as a rich source of Iodine, is that it has mild thyroid stimulating properties. This does not support a weight reduction claim, and certainly not the claim on the pack for ´treatment of obesity´.

Overall, in the opinion of the SC panel, this product would be very unlikely to deliver the types of benefit expected by the consumer. The product is quite low priced.
